Over 400 heating kits for 1,000+ people across five high-rise buildings

It is bitterly cold in Kyiv right now.
The kind of cold that creeps into apartments, into bones, into people’s spirits.

This weekend, Ukraine2Power distributed over 300 heating kits as part of our second wave of support. In total, we have now delivered more than 400 heating kits, reaching five high-rise buildings and over 1,000 people. And still, the need continues to grow.

We packed these kits in a warehouse without light and without heating. Working in the dark, wearing gloves, trying to keep our hands warm enough to keep going. Today, we are moving to another warehouse — one that at least has a generator. Even that feels like progress.

For years, people here have lived with air raid alarms and shelling as part of daily life. But being stuck for weeks in freezing apartments, unable to warm up, unsure when electricity or heat will return, this breaks people in a different way.

You see it in the children.
You feel it even more in the elderly.

Many older people barely leave their homes anymore. Only when it’s absolutely necessary. They speak quietly, move slowly, and carry a deep exhaustion. In many apartment buildings, the hallways are completely dark, sometimes you can barely see where you’re walking.

When we distribute the kits, people often ask us: “Who is this help from?”
And we tell them:

This help comes from ordinary people in Germany — people who care, who feel connected, and who refuse to look away.

People are deeply grateful: some thank us with tears in their eyes, others with a quiet nod or a whispered “thank you.” Even in their exhaustion, the gratitude is overwhelming.

These heating kits bring warmth to bodies. But just as importantly, they bring warmth to the soul, a reminder that someone out there is thinking of them.

We were strongly supported by the Ukrainian organization Help for Ukraine and their volunteers, who helped us pack and distribute heating kits. We want to amplify this impact and warmly invite further partnerships and cooperation.

Thank you to everyone who trusts us, supports our mission, and stands with us.
Thank you sincerely for every donation, every message, and every act of solidarity. 💙💛
Your support is felt, right here, in the cold.
