As part of Ukraine2Power’s Winter Project, people with hearing and visual impairments received essential support to help them stay warm and navigate daily life during ongoing power outages.

At the Solar BESS Grid Forum in Kyiv, Kostiantyn Gura highlighted the role of civil society in helping communities transform energy needs into concrete projects and funding opportunities. A key message was that local ownership and co-financing help attract funding and accelerate implementation.

At the Energy Security Conference 2026 in Berlin, Nataliia Fiebrig discussed how local energy resilience and decentralized solutions can help communities prepare for future crises. The panel emphasized the need to move from emergency response to long-term partnerships and sustainable reconstruction.

Nataliia Fiebrig and Michael Pelke came together in Kyiv to deliver the final heating kits of a campaign they had launched together in Berlin months earlier. Throughout the winter, Ukraine2Power provided around 6,000 heating kits to residents affected by the energy crisis in Kyiv.

Women recovering from cancer were among the vulnerable groups supported through Ukraine2Power’s Winter Project. Emergency heating kits helped them stay warm and maintain basic comfort during a winter marked by blackouts and energy disruptions.

Just in time for the most difficult weeks of winter, Ukraine2Power installed a 20 kW inverter and a 100 kWh battery storage system at Kindergarten Sonechko No. 1 in Ukraine’s Sumy region. The system ensured reliable heating, lighting, and water supply despite ongoing power outages.

During a visit to Kyiv, Barbara von Freytag, who helped raise funds for Ukraine2Power’s Winter Project, accompanied our team from the warehouse to the distribution of emergency kits. The visit highlighted how the solidarity of people in Germany continues to bring warmth and support to those most affected by the energy crisis.

At GREEN EXPO 2026, Kostiantyn Gura, Chairman of Ukraine2Power’s Supervisory Board, moderated the panel “Energy Decentralization: A New Stage of Transformation,” bringing together experts to discuss how decentralised energy solutions can strengthen Ukraine’s energy security and resilience ahead of future winters.

More than 300 internally displaced mothers raising children with disabilities received emergency heating kits to help their families stay warm, safe, and connected during a difficult winter marked by blackouts and uncertainty.

More than 4,000 emergency kits reached some of the most vulnerable residents of Kyiv, including internally displaced families, people with disabilities, railway workers, and families of cancer patients. The project was made possible through the generosity and solidarity of people in Germany and beyond.

Nearly 100 gas heaters reached 10 social service centers and residential care facilities in the Kyiv region, helping more than 2,000 vulnerable residents stay warm during the winter months.

The Ukraine2Power team supports others while facing the same cold and uncertainty themselves. Even in these conditions, they continue delivering warmth, one home at a time.

The panel discussion "No Power. No Panic. Blackouts: Lessons from Kyiv to Berlin" at Café Kyiv 2026 highlighted a shared vulnerability: modern societies depend entirely on functioning energy systems. From frontline cities to European capitals, strengthening resilience means protecting energy, water and heating through coordination, investment and decentralisation before the next crisis strikes.

In Kyiv, Ukraine2Power met with Bundestag Member Katrin Göring-Eckardt to discuss the escalating energy crisis, humanitarian needs, and the urgent push for resilient, decentralized energy solutions for Ukraine.

With Kateryna Pavlova joining Ukraine2Power to lead our humanitarian efforts, we have already delivered nearly 500 heating kits, personally placing them hand to hand with families braving the harsh winter cold.

This year’s event “Ukraine Reimagined: Investing in Renewables and Storage” brings together policymakers, investors, and industry leaders to explore how Ukraine’s energy sector can drive recovery while strengthening Europe’s long-term energy security. It is organised by the European-Ukrainian Energy Agency (EUEA) together with the Secretariat of the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership.
