🇩🇪🇺🇦 Standing with Displaced Mothers Raising Children with Disabilities

April 8, 2026

More than 300 internally displaced mothers raising children with disabilities received emergency heating kits to help their families stay warm, safe, and connected during a difficult winter marked by blackouts and uncertainty.

This winter, Ukraine2Power distributed thousands of emergency heating kits in Kyiv.

🤝 Part of this support reached internally displaced mothers raising children with disabilities.

Through the network of the NGO Litai, we reached more than 300 families. Many of these women fled the frontlines with their children and are now trying to rebuild a sense of safety in completely new surroundings.

For these mothers, everyday life already requires enormous strength. Caring for children with disabilities while coping with displacement, cold apartments, unstable electricity, and constant uncertainty makes daily challenges even greater.

Litai was created by internally displaced women themselves. It brings together mothers who support one another, share strength, and help each other move forward.

💙💛 We receive messages of gratitude and feedback almost every day. Many families take these items with them to shelters at night during shelling, especially for their children. In their messages, they tell us how much this support helps.

We are now finalising the winter distribution, but the need for warmth and support remains. Even small things such as warmth, light, and the feeling that someone cares can make a real difference.

Thank you to the people in Germany and beyond who made this support possible.
