Village of Nova Vodolaha

March 20, 2025

⚡️ Russian attacks on energy infrastructure and medical facilities in Ukraine have severely hampered medical care, endangering both patients and healthcare workers. Days-long power outages have led to cancelled surgeries, unsanitary conditions, and equipment failure, forcing doctors to operate under difficult conditions. The regions that suffered the most attacks on hospitals in 2022 were Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Luhansk.

In September 2022, at around 1 am, the Russian military launched a missile attack on the town of Nova Vodolaha, located in the south-west of the Kharkiv region. They fired two missiles at the settlement, one of which hit a private house. The strike killed a 62-year-old woman and damaged many residential buildings.

The work of the Central hospital in Nova Vodolaha was constantly disrupted due to forced power outages. The facility has 8 departments and employs over 300 medical staff. Every year they provide more than 90,000 medical consultations.

🔋 At the beginning of December last year, Ukraine2Power provided the hospital with a mobile power system. The charging station has already been installed in the operating room in the anaesthesiology department with intensive care beds and it is already in active use.

💭 “A generator needs a lot of fuel and lubricants, but a mobile charging station does not. Also, the station does not make any noise, it is very environmentally friendly,” shared her impression one of the hospital staff.
