Over €1.2 Billion Secured for Ukraine’s Energy Future at URC 2025
At the Ukraine Recovery Conference, major strides were made toward rebuilding and transforming Ukraine’s energy sector—especially in renewables, resilience, and European integration.
As announced by Minister of Energy German Galushchenko, over €1.2 billion in agreements were secured across nuclear, hydropower, oil & gas, renewables, and energy education. More than 30 agreements and memorandums with international partners reflect a clear shift toward cleaner, more secure, and modern energy systems.
🔋 Key outcomes include:
• Agreements to strengthen hydropower and develop new wind power projects
• Launch of risk mitigation mechanisms to unlock investment in renewables
• Support for geothermal, CCS, and biomass transition pilot projects
• Collaboration with UNDP on a “green recovery” initiative
• Expansion of Ukraine’s capacity to produce its own nuclear fuel and build small modular reactors
• Restoration and modernization of key CHP plants
• €240M+ committed to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund for critical infrastructure
🤝 Partnerships with leading companies like Siemens, Terna SpA, Voith Hydro, Webuild, Baker Hughes, and Snam S.p.A. will strengthen digitalization, grid flexibility, and sustainability.
