Café Kyiv 2026 | No Power. No Panic. Blackouts: Lessons from Kyiv to Berlin
If you are attending Café Kyiv, Ukraine2Power would like to invite you to join our panel discussion on 23 February 2026.
Following the recent blackout in Southwest Berlin, the question of energy resilience feels more relevant than ever. How do we respond to sudden energy shortages? How can critical infrastructure be better protected? And what can we learn from countries that have faced repeated and long-lasting outages?
This panel brings together perspectives from Ukraine and Germany to share experiences and practical insights. Ukraine has been dealing with large-scale blackouts for years due to targeted attacks on its energy infrastructure. The discussion will focus on protecting critical systems, repair and recovery processes, and how authorities, energy providers, and communities respond during prolonged disruptions.
🎙️ We welcome the following speakers:
• Vitalii Lukov, First Deputy Mayor of Mykolaiv, sharing firsthand insights into municipal crisis management and community resilience
• Mariia Tsaturian, Chief Communication Officer at the Ukraine Facility Platform and former CCO at Ukrenergo, offering a technical perspective on grid resilience
• Dr. Maren Jasper-Winter, Head of Public Affairs at LEAG AG and Member of the Executive Board at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, reflecting on Berlin’s January blackout from a political and regulatory perspective
