☀️ First Stage of Solar Plant Construction Completed in Rozhnyativ!

July 4, 2025

We’re excited to share that the first stage of construction on our very first Solar Power Plant (SPP) is now complete — a crucial step toward energy independence and sustainability for Rozhnyativ Multidisciplinary Hospital.

👏 We are grateful to our financial partner Solarspar and technical partner NGO Ecoclub for helping bring sustainable energy where it’s needed most.

The solar panels and inverters are already in place, and system tuning is underway. This 50 kW hybrid solar power system, installed on the roof of the hospital’s main surgical building, is now one step closer to delivering clean, reliable energy to a facility that treats over 5,000 patients annually across departments like surgery, trauma, obstetrics and gynecology, neurology, emergency, and intensive care.

🔋 Next Step: Battery Installation
To complete the system, Ukraine2Power is currently seeking €10,000 in funding to purchase and install five additional batteries (25.6 kWh total capacity). We welcome both donations and equipment support to help finalize this life-saving project.

Project Highlights:
⚡️ Hybrid, grid-tied solar power configuration with energy storage
🔋 Battery backup for critical medical equipment (e.g., ventilators, anesthesia machines)
🏥 Capacity to expand power coverage to other hospital buildings

Expected Impact:
💸 Annual savings: 584,000 UAH
🌱 CO₂ emissions avoided: 25.19 tons/year (~459 tons over 20 years)
💡 Renewable energy production: 50,409 kWh/year

In the face of ongoing attacks on Ukraine’s energy and healthcare infrastructure, this project strengthens the hospital’s resilience, relieves pressure on the national grid, and supports a clean energy future.
