We Continue Distributing Warmth
More than 700 heating kits have already been delivered to residents of Kyiv’s high-rise buildings, reaching people apartment by apartment as they endure cold homes without reliable heat, water, or electricity.
Over 700 heating kits have now been distributed by Ukraine2Power to people living in high-rise buildings in Kyiv who are trying to cope without heating, water, and electricity. Today we were out again, handing out support — and we will continue tomorrow and the day after.
We always start by asking what people really need. We contact each building first and prepare the kits accordingly. If gas is available, we include sleeping bags and/or electric blankets, power banks, and heat patches. If there is no gas, we add a camping stove with cartridges so that at least something warm can be prepared.
The other night, thermal power plants were attacked again. Around 4,000 buildings in Kyiv are once more without heating. People in Odesa and Dnipro are also facing the cold. Russia continues trying to push Ukraine into darkness and freezing temperatures.
We hand over the kits directly, from person to person. And then there are those who can no longer come downstairs. We always ask about them. For them, we go up ourselves — without elevators, often through completely dark stairwells, using flashlights and carrying the packages step by step. This is where the quietest people live, and often the ones who need help the most.
People need the warmth. But they also need the feeling that someone cares.
We continue distributing actively. Much has already been purchased, and we are now able to place larger orders. Whenever possible, we buy directly in Ukraine — it’s faster and helps avoid long transport routes.
🇩🇪 At the same time, support from Germany continues to arrive. We have already received 500 power banks. Another 1,000 electric blankets and 90 larger gas heaters are on the way — items that are currently very hard to find or extremely expensive in Ukraine. We are also expecting more than 150 charging stations for palliative patients and seriously ill people who depend on medical devices, so they can keep them running even during power cuts. We urgently need more of them; the market is nearly empty.
We continue, day by day, even though our Ukraine2Power team often has to live and work under the same conditions — without heating and electricity themselves.
A huge, heartfelt thank you to the people in Germany and beyond who support this work. Your solidarity is truly overwhelming 💛💙
It is felt. Every single day.
